A gorgeous Demoness in Hell, a galaxy far, far away...
...a tribute to master Dario Argento... The journey across time and space: the seductive appeal of comics. Indie comics. Swallows, in between.
Hello, my dear Friend, how are you? I hope everything is okay there! :)
Upcoming projects make it difficult for me to resist the hot Italian summer, but living near the sea, I might be able to survive!
I'm thrilled and honored to share with you the work in progress on an incredible comic project, a spin-off of Larry Welz's Cherry 'Poptart' Adult Comics! Larry's art begins with eros, but limiting it to that is reductive. His characters became a symbol of resistance to censorship and have had a big impact on the underground comic scene in San Francisco area (and worldwide) since the late 1960s, inspiring great names in art and comics (Neil Gaiman, Steve Tyler, Brian Pulido, etc.)
Thanks to Gavriel Discordia and Discordia Team, the work of Larry now is available in The First Edition Cherry's Jubilee Collection Trade Paperback.
And, once again, many thanks to Gavriel, Discordia, and Larry, I'm working on "Star Wash," a Cherryverse Spin-Off, with main heroine Ellie Dee, Cherry's best friend, running a spacecraft wash company with a staff of gorgeous droids and aliens, trying to survive the nasty small planet where the action takes place; "ça va sans dire": pretty spicy! :)
The second episode of "1001 Nights…in Hell! KHIVA" will be released tomorrow, June 25th. The main character would be enough to start a fire; a magnificent real model starring the Sharazade-Demoness will force me to work with fever! Surprise, you will find out tomorrow!
Then, I attended a comic festival (Termoli Comics) near my hometown that featured a tribute to 80s horror films. My pick was Dario Argento's "Suspiria". Recently, I saw the movie again and I was shocked! Reminded me of the Italian horror master's amazing flair!
Finally, in the future, I'd like to devote more room to life outside of comics. Why? To be honest, I believe that supporting someone indicates a great level of faith in that person, and the more I know someone, the more I trust him or her.
So, I recently "rediscover" an old turntable and some 80s vinyls, reigniting an early love of records that I'd like to share!
And swallows. Yes, swallows :) I frequently visit my uncle's place, which is in open country with two nests of a swallow dynasty that returns year after year. More than ten years. These days, the tiny swallows are leaving their nest. Amazing. This, I believe, is one of the primary reasons why any algorithm hates me! You cannot talk about swallows, vinyls, and Indie Comics!
So, because no algorithm or social media will ever love me, I'm sending this email to encourage as many people as possible to support the projects! :)
Have a wonderful day, dear Friend, and see you soon!
Thank you for subscribing to my comic, Tuco! And this work of yours is great. To be frank, I’m not into horror but Dario was a master- and this artwork would’ve been perfect as a poster. (Would love to see you tackle Valley of the Dolls!)
My God, I love SUspiria! It i without question one of my favorite films of all time: the garish colors, the horrifying deaths, and that haunting fairytale soundtrack that goes from tinkling and bewitching to wild and pumping in only a few bars. Absolutely phenomenal film!
